PROJECT ON BIOFILMS (Pr. C. HUBAS)
In 2021 after an EMBRC meeting Pr. Cédric Hubas (Concarneau Marine Station) and Dr. C. Oger had the chance to exhange on oxylipins and they protential role in light-induced stress. A strong collaboration thus started, mainly with Pr. Cédric Hubas, Pr. Thierry Dufour (Laboratoire de Physique des Plasmas, UMPC, Paris) and Dr. Gabriel Markob (Roscoff Marine Station). A post-doctoral fellow, Dr. Caroline Doose worked on the project from 2021 to 2023 and a PhD student pursued in the end of 2023. Our first results revealed the presence of non-enzymatic oxylipins in the microphytobentic biofim, and mainly EPA and ALA metabolites appears in higher concentration. Also, stresses were induced using different light intensity and have shown a modification in the oxylipins profile.
In this project, with the collaboration with Pr. T. Dufour, we now aimed to study the effect of plasma on biofilms, looking at oxylipin profiles.
